Access the Continental divide and experience the breath taking views. Pass through the historic Creede Mining District and witness many historic structures and sites from Creede's dynamic mining era, and then travel through high alpine meadows awash with wild flowers. Elevation ranges from 10,500 to 11,000 feet. Slash through high mountain streams, enjoy the cool fresh mountain air, and feel the exhilaration of the ride. Bring your camera to capture the possible wildlife sightings of big horn sheep, moose, deer, elk, rabbits, marmots, whistle-pigs, fox, hawks, eagles and on rare occasions another human. Summer days are warm, averaging 70-75 degrees, with occasional showers occurring in the late afternoon. Fall features incredible views as the landscape changes and prepares for the oncoming winter.
